Mairi and Murdo MacIntyre are the newest residents of Bluewater Village. They have bought this lovely 3-bedroom red brick home on the hill into town, which reminds them of the highlands of home. Mairi is an avid spelunker, and was thrilled to get the opportunity to make a little money doing exactly that immediately after they arrived. Murdo picked up a sales job, and is also hoping to unload their car, which they don't think they'll need thanks to the excellent carpooling system in town. Murdo knows that Mairi has a knack for mechanical things, so when he had the opportunity to buy her a robotic crafting station, he jumped at it. Altogether they think they'll be able to put together a decent living for the family they hope to start soon.
So, right after I said I take the random Sims that are generated, I
broke my own guidelines and had a little fun with Mairi and Murdo. She
came up with red hair and a "turn-on" of beards, so I gave him red hair
and a red beard along with it, and I couldn't resist choosing a
vintage-style outfit for her and a kilt for him. They rolled for enough
money to buy a house, but not a lot left over. The Adventurer career is Mairi's Lifetime Want, and Murdo rolled to sell cars (not my favourite, but I don't have a Sim doing that right now.) By my rules of the game he was allowed to take the Business job because he rolled a want to get a career in that job, even though it's not his career want.
On the next round I'm about to begin, I need to do an audit of what Sims are in what jobs - some careers that I thought I'd unlocked, it turns out I've only unlocked individual slots in. Cleaning that up should create some good shaking-up of various Sims' lives!
