Uriah Underhill and his son Cicero arrive at the Gym and Cafe they recently bought.
Owning businesses is so complex, I'm not sure I'll ever figure out all the wrinkles. It's a ton of fun, but also sometimes a challenge; often Sims will have a Lifetime Wish to own 5 top-level businesses, but I find it hard to get a Sim to have just one in their lifetime!
This is one of the plasticbox creations, and in a small footprint manages to fit several money-making opportunities. There is a commercial oven in the basement and a restaurant podium on the main floor, so the cafe can be run as a restaurant. I did this today, with Uriah as the host and Cicero bouncing between server and chef. That only works when the restaurant is at a very low level, rank 1 or 2, because otherwise there are too many guests to handle. If they wait too long for the server to take their order or bring their food, they get mad, naturally!
As well as the restaurant, there is a bar on the main floor, and a cash register and a grocery case on the second storey with the gym machines. So the grocery case could be set to sell items as a mock sports-drinks and protein-bar dispenser, and on top of all that I could add a ticket machine for people to use the gym. I think then Sims would also have to pay the ticket price even to eat at the cafe, and I haven't tried that before to see how it works.
