Tripp Waddell was the child of Wayne Waddell, one of the second wave of founders of Strangetown, and his wife Trista. Tripp was an avid gardener who loved tending his vegetables and selling them from his backyard. He leaves behind his widow Abigail, and four children, Trina, Tricia, Abbott, and Ace, all at home. Tripp was predeceased by his parents and a brother, Tristan.
(Not mentioned in the obituary - that would be such bad taste - is the 15,000 Simoleons paid out to Tripp's widow, children, and friends from his life insurance.)
I really have to stop trying to take screen captures when it's dark for my Sims, because it's so hard to make anything out. I couldn't really help the fact that Tripp died during the night, though - normally it's at 6pm, but sometimes it takes some hours for the reaper to show up.
I do have a spreadsheet to keep track of my Sims, but I actually pulled the relationships above from the game itself. It took me forever to notice and click on a little icon in the relationship panel that looks like a family tree... and of course, it takes me to a family tree! The Sim is shown with their parents, siblings, and children, and clicking on any of them takes you to the view of that person. Sims that have passed away are in black and white instead of colour, so they're easy to pick out.
I was pretty surprised by the life insurance when my first Sim died! It can make a huge difference in the family's finances. The amount given to each person depends on the type of relationship (parent, child, spouse, friend) and the level of the relationship between them (I think I've already mentioned that there is a point-in-time and long-term score, each from 0 to 100). Sims not living in the same household have the money deposited the next time I play them.
