Greta Anderson puts out a fire that her roommate Talmadge Gibson accidentally started while making omelettes. She was the last child of elderly parents, and was left an orphan while a teen, so she is used to taking care of herself. While Talmadge panicked, she got out the fire extinguisher and put out the fire. No injuries were sustained, and there was very little permanent damage.
Greta and Talmadge both have the same lifetime want, which is to reach the top of the Journalism career track.
Talmadge and Greta had lightning bolts for each other when they were both teens, so I moved Talmadge in when he turned an adult. He needed to move out of the family home anyway, and I thought I would see if they still had attraction when she became an adult. The game doesn't allow romantic interactions between teenagers and adults, thank goodness.
I tried to capture the silly freaking-out that Sims do when they don't know how to handle a fire. Because Greta was sleeping and I had to wake her up and send her to the fire, it had some time to spread and had engulfed three squares - the stove, fridge, and counter. I was worried it might have gone too far, but she managed to get it all out safely. That was a relief, since Greta's one of my favourite Sims.
And yes, Talmadge is a top-1000 name! It had its peak in the 1920s and 30s, and it seems to be both a variation on "Talmage" and an early example of a surname becoming a given name.
