Glee was such a sensation ten years ago that you probably heard about it, but if you didn't watch it then, you might enjoy checking it out now. It's light and the characters mostly start off as caricatures, but it moves quickly and the musical numbers are pure fun. Watch at least the first four episodes to see Kurt on the football team, one of my favourite moments. If the name Kristin Chenoweth means something to you or you like Broadway in general, watch episode 5.

Gore/Violence: Very low
Passes Bechdel test: Yes (3 minutes into the pilot, Sue and Emma talk about the cheerleading team).
HAES-friendly: Mediocre. One of the main characters is in a larger body, and is not remarked on.
Disability fail: One of the main characters uses a wheelchair, but the actor is able-bodied.
