Cindy Newson and Uriah Underhill welcome their fourth son, Clay. Uriah is the son of Una Underhill, one of the second wave of founders of Strangetown (that wave also included Wayne Waddell and Victoria Vachon).
After Cicero, Clarke, and Claude, I was hoping for a girl... only because I knew I was running out of C names! I already have a Clayton, and it was either Clay or go into the D names, so Clay he is. That's Claude crawling away into the bedroom. This is another tiny one-bedroom apartment: Una Underhill was my first apartment dweller in this neighbourhood, and her descendants still live in the same apartment.
Boys and girls in the game have different clothes and hairstyles to choose from, but they are otherwise identical. The available interactions, aspirations, and wants are the same, which I appreciate. Their behaviours are based on their characteristics (neatness or slobbiness, outgoing vs. shy, etc) rather than any silly generalization about what boys and girls are like. I'm sure I could download custom content to have gender-neutral clothing, but the game does enough for me to be happy. (Compare that to Fallout Shelter, where only certain genders can wear certain outfits - grr!)
