One wise woman I know schedules a day off every week, a week off every month, and a month off every year. I am nowhere near that level, but I do try to reserve one day a week for recreation, or as Stephen Covey points out, can be thought of as "re-creation". [1]
Because I have classes, tutorials, and meetings every weekday (as I imagine you do too), that day has to fall on the weekend. Often Sunday does make sense, and it was a strong part of my upbringing, so that has stuck with me. It shifts around from week to week, since I may be more motivated to work on an assignment or paper on Sunday than Saturday, or there might be a holiday that I take as my day.
(Anyone else old enough to remember when "Sunday shopping" was a debate? In 1985 the Supreme Court struck down the "Lord's Day Act" that prevented stores from opening on Sunday. [2] As I recall it, even after the religious aspect was removed, a lot of people still argued for a "common pause day". It's strange to remember now.)
So here's your task for today. In Habitica, find the Inn and rest in it. (Hint: Click on Guilds, choose Tavern Chat, then look at the right hand side of the page.) You won't get any damage from dailies you don't do as long as you're in the Inn. This is great when you go on vacation or away for the weekend! But for now, you're going to stay there for 24 hours. Put aside your schoolwork, don't spend any gold, plan something fun to do with friends, and come back tomorrow.
If this is hard... remember, you're doing great! You deserve this, and you earned it!
